Technical competencies


Learners lack technical competencies


  • Learners may differ in their prior knowledge of word processing, spread sheets, internet usage, image and video processing, or downloading and installing files and programs
  • This may be due to them coming from different backgrounds or age groups
  • They may be more or less open towards the use of new technology


Business, university, further education


  • Provide a general introduction into the use of the different tools used in the course
  • Set up tutorials
  • Offer technical support
  • Use technology (e.g., learning platforms) that are clearly structured and easy to use
  • Utilize commonly available programs
  • Do not use too many different programs
  • Tasks should be completed within the learning platform when possible in order not to overwhelm the learner with too many interfaces
